At the eleventh hour of the 11th day of November, the town of Brownsburg-Chatham held their 2024 Remembrance Day ceremony at Parc des Vétérans in cooperation with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 71. Service members and dignitaries attended the vigil to pay their respects to veterans of the armed forces past and present, and their dedicated service to ensuring the rights and freedoms Canadians enjoy today.
Community members wearing poppies braved the rain to demonstrate their devotion to remembering those who fell in battle and keeping the hope of peace alive.

Beginning at the Legion on rue MacVicar, a small procession walked in the November drizzle to Parc des Vétérans, where a community gathering had already begun to take shape.
The traditional two minutes of silence observed allowed attendees to take a brief moment to reflect, be thankful, and, overall, remember.
Wreaths were placed at the cenotaph in honour of their fallen brothers and sisters. Individuals were invited to place their poppies on the wreaths to showcase their commemoration and remembrance efforts.
Following the ceremony, Brownsburg-Chatham Mayor Kévin Maurice commemorated the event with a speech inaugurating the park a year after its refurbishment project was announced. He continued by stating that preserving the legacy of veterans was of utmost importance. Maurice then gave a brief tribute to local fallen members.
