Remembrance Day is around the corner, with multiple events in the region taking place to commemorate the day dedicated to past and present military service personnel. Current global unease and tensions have renewed the importance of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice and continue to fight for the freedoms Canadians enjoy today.
From the last week of October until Remembrance Day, many individuals wishing to demonstrate their support and appreciation for veterans will wear the poppy, the symbol of the National Poppy Campaign. The initiative raises funds for veterans and their families who are in need.
