The 182nd Vankleek Hill Fair is now part of the long history of the event. The 2026 fair began on Thursday, August 13 and ended on Sunday, August 16. During the four-day event, everything about Vankleek Hill’s agricultural heritage, past, present, and future was celebrated.

“A lot of time and effort goes into putting this fair together,” said Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society President Amanda Cowan at the opening ceremony on Thursday evening.

Champlain Township Mayor Normand Riopel remarked how for 182 years that the fair has brought the community together.

“For many families, the fair is the highlight of the year,” Riopel said.

Greetings were also shared at the opening ceremony from Glengarry-Prescott-Russell Member of Provincial Parliament Stéphane Sarrazin, Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) President Heather Owens of Campbellford, and OAAS District 1 Provincial Director Amy LeRoy, originally of Vankleek Hill.

Owens spoke about the many fairs across Ontario and said each is unique.

“Everyone has something special at their home fair,” she said.

And indeed, the fair was a highlight for many. With a theme of “Small town, big hearts,” the four days featured competitions for cattle, horses, crops, crafts, rodeo, the always popular demolition derby, Midway, and live entertainment. Residents of the small town of Vankleek Hill welcomed visitors and the big hearts of the community were on display for four days through friendly competition, celebration, and hospitality.
