Lakeside Green Environmental Consulting is stepping up to support local health care with a donation to the Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) Foundation’s CT Scanner Campaign.

Owner Michael Madden has contributed $3,000, marking the first year of a five-year pledge totalling $15,000 through the foundation’s Business Steps Up initiative.

“HGMH is a huge part of our community. It’s part of us, and it benefits everyone who lives in this area,” Madden said.

“As a business, I think it’s important to support our community when we can. Over the years, HGMH has provided care to every member of my family, and I’m very grateful. This is a small way to give back and support a hospital that continues to serve our community. We’re lucky to have it, and we need to make sure it stays strong for years to come.”

The CT Scanner Campaign aims to bring advanced diagnostic imaging technology to HGMH, improving access to timely and accurate CT scans for residents in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) and surrounding areas.

Lakeside Green’s multi-year commitment highlights the role local businesses can play in supporting community health care.

“Lakeside Green shows how a business can lead by example,” said Mark Adam, chair of the HGMH Foundation board. “Michael’s commitment helps ensure our hospital can meet the changing health-care needs of families, while also showing how businesses can support both community health and the environment.”

The HGMH Foundation is encouraging other SDG businesses to get involved through the Business Steps Up program, helping ensure important diagnostic services remain available close to home.
