Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered two stolen vehicles in Glengarry.
On Monday, September 16, shortly after 11:15 a.m., officers located a stolen vehicle on Sandfield Avenue in Alexandria. It had been stolen from the Greater Toronto Area.
Tia Colborne, 21-years-old from Cornwall, was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime-over $5,000.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on October 2, 2024.
And, on Sunday, September 15, shortly before 4 p.m., SD&G OPP officers were on patrol on Highway 401 in South Glengarry when the cruiser’s Automated Licence Plate Recognition system detected a stolen vehicle traveling eastbound. The car had been reported stolen from the Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Québec, which is located between Rivière-du-Loup and New Brunswick.
Marie-Josee Fortin-Pichette, 36-years-old from Thetford Mines Québec, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Operation while impaired – drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance- cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
Gerald St-Amand, 76-years-old from Sorel-Tracy Québec, was charged with:
- Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance- cocaine
Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 17, 2024.
