The Nation Municipality held its annual Volunteer of the Year Gala on Saturday, April 13, at The Nation Sports Complex, in Limoges. The gala was an opportunity to honour and recognize the contributions of many volunteers from 2023 but more specifically eight outstanding individuals from each of the six wards in the municipality.

The Volunteers of the Year 2023 are Sylvain and Sylvia Levac from Ward 1, Yolande Lalonde from Ward 2, Nicole Forgues from Ward 3, Genevieve Dwyer from Ward 4, Jenn Tryon from Ward 5, as well as Veronique Fortier and Carl Letourneau from Ward 6. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional commitment by volunteering at local schools, community centres, community events, and fundraisers. Their relentless efforts have truly made a profound impact, enriching the lives of those around them and exemplifying the spirit of community service.

“Tonight, we gather to honour and celebrate the heartbeat of our municipality– our volunteers. In every ward, from every corner, you dedicate your time, energy, and passion to make our community vibrant and thriving. Your hard work is the driving force behind every initiative and program, and we couldn’t do it without you.” The Nation Mayor Francis Brière said.
