Two Lachute residents are facing possible drug-related charges after Sûreté du Québec officers seized illegal drugs and contraband cannabis on May 12. 

Police searched a dwelling on rue Princess seized more than 82 grams of cannabis, more than 1,000 grams of cannabis edible product, 20 methamphetamine tablets, 100 prescription drug tablets and items used in drug trafficking. 

A 42-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested. They will appear in court in Saint-Jérôme at a later date.   

The operation resulted from an investigation initiated following information received from the public. The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected in this case.
