As of Monday, May 10, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority reported nine active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil also remained unchanged at 24 as of Monday.

Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 310 active cases of COVID-19 as of May 10.

Vaccination information

Québec is phasing in making COVID-19 vaccination appointments available to all adults aged 18 and greater.  As of May 10, individuals aged 30 and older (born in 1991 or before) are eligible.

The Québec department of health and social services reported that 256,804 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Monday.

Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of May 10 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École St-Alexandre in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of Monday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 8,143 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Monday, May 10, and there were 662 new cases across Québec on Monday.

There were 543 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Monday, and 123 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,993 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of May 10, which was an increase of six deaths from May 9.

Across Québec, 3,781,451 vaccine doses had been administered as of Monday.

On May 10, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority that every resident of a long-term care facility in the region had received their second COVID-19 vaccination.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic until May 20.
