The Employment Services Centre of Prescott-Russell has received an award for its efforts to accommodate immigrants in the region.

On March 5, the centre’s Director, Caroline Arcand, accepted the “Immigrants, moi j’y crois” award on behalf of the centre.

The award is presented annually by La Cité des affaires and recognizes the contribution of individuals and organizations that demonstrate a commitment to supporting immigration.

The event, which was held virtually, was attended by approximately 100 participants, and Arcand was keen to share this recognition with collaborators from La Cité.

After accepting the award, Arcand challenged newcomers to take an interest in the rural region of Prescott and Russell. She specified that the region has a lot to gain by attracting the talents and skills sought after by employers.

“Together, let’s make Prescott and Russell a cultural mosaic!” Arcand said.

The Employment Services Centre is a proud partner of Hawkesbury’s ‘Welcoming Francophone Community’ designation, where it is actively involved in developing activities and resources to attract immigrants and newcomers to the region.
