Fire broke out at Garage Prudhomme on Route 148/Route du Canton in Brownsburg-Chatham at around noon on Tuesday, August 11. Smoke could be seen from a considerable distance away. The garage had been located at the site for many years and also sold used vehicles and serviced heavy trucks. The Brownsburg-Chatham and Lachute fire departments responded to the fire and the Sûreté du Québec also responded to ensure public and traffic safety. Route 148 was closed due to the fire and the need for emergency vehicles to access the site.
