A COVID-19 outbreak remained in effect at the long-term care facility (CHSLD) attached to the hospital in Lachute as of Tuesday, July 28.  According to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority, two people at the facility have COVID-19, which is a decrease from three patients on July 21.  The outbreak is affecting two per cent of the beds at the CHSLD, which is a decrease from three per cent one week ago.  The number of deaths due to the outbreak remains at five.

On July 28, the CISSS des Laurentides was not reporting the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the MRC d’Argenteuil since the pandemic began.  There were 20 active cases of COVID-19 throughout Argenteuil on July 28, which was a decrease from 34 active cases on July 21.

COVID-19 continues to be present in all nine municipalities within the MRC d’Argenteuil.  The latest statistics by municipality were published by the CISSS des Laurentides on July 23.

Brownsburg-Chatham: 19 cumulative, less than five active
Gore: 6 cumulative, less than five active
Grenville (village): Less than five cumulative and less than five active
Grenville-sur-la-Rouge: Five cumulative, less than five active
Harrington: Less than five active, less than five cumulative
Lachute: 52 cumulative, nine active

Mille-Isles: Less than five cumulative, less than five active
Saint-André-d’Argenteuil: Nine cumulative, less than five active
Wentworth: Less than five active, less than five cumulative

No new statistics on COVID-19 deaths in the MRC d’Argenteuil were available on July 28.  As of July 21, there had been eight deaths due to COVID-19 in the region.

Québec COVID-19 statistics

As of Tuesday July 21, there were 58,897 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Québec, which was an increase of 1,101 cases from 57,796 cases one week before on July 21.  The Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) reported on July 27 that 50,886 cases of COVID-19 in Québec were resolved, which means that 86.4 per cent of the 58,897 cases were resolved and that 8,011 cases remained active.

Across Québec on July 28, 193, COVID-19 patients were in hospital, which were 54 fewer patients in hospital than on July 21. Out of the 193 in hospital, eight of those patients were in intensive care, which was a decrease from 15 patients in intensive care on July 21.

There had been 5,670 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 throughout Québec as of July 28, which was an increase of 12 deaths during the past seven days.
