The Lachute Fire Department opened the doors of its Avenue Barron fire station on Saturday, October 3, giving residents an opportunity to meet local firefighters and learn more about fire prevention.
The open house was held at the George Y. Deacon Building and featured activities for families throughout the day as part of Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 4 to 10.
Children were invited to take part in a firefighter obstacle course, while visitors could tour the department’s emergency vehicles and equipment. The event also included inflatable games, a visit inside a prevention trailer, cooking-fire demonstrations, and an appearance by officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
