Fête nationale is Tuesday, June 24 and the town of Brownsburg-Chatham has announced its program of festivities for the celebration. Festivities will take place from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Brownsburg-Chatham municipal campground, located at 457 Route des Outaouais (Route 344). Admission to the site will be free for everyone from 4 p.m. until the end of the event at 11 p.m.
From 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., families will be the focus with a variety of activities for all ages. Inflatable games, face painting, balloon sculpting, and activities led by the Brownsburg-Chatham Youth Centre will be offered to provide a festive and fun-filled afternoon.
From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., festivalgoers can also purchase food and beverages.
The musical program will begin at 7:15 p.m. with the group Vox Pop, who will offer a show entirely dedicated to the greatest rock and French-language popular hits from Québec. Composed of six musicians, Vox Pop offers a true musical journey through more than fifty years of local music, revisiting nearly 40 landmark songs, from Charlebois to Roxane Bruneau, including Harmonium, Les Cowboys Fringants, and many others. Their infectious energy promises to get the audience singing and celebrating to the rhythm of these classics that tell our collective story.
The official ceremony will take place at 8:50 p.m., with an address by Kévin Maurice, Mayor of Brownsburg-Chatham, followed by a tribute to the flag.
Starting at 9 p.m., the stage will come alive with the highly anticipated return of the duo Les 2 gars du coin. Formed by Kenny Desjardins and Charles-Henri Lauzon, the group was born from a chance meeting at a national holiday celebration and has been touring Québec since spring 2022 with infectious energy. Already well-known to the Brownsburg-Chatham audience after their memorable performance last year, they return this year to thrill the crowd with their original compositions as well as several Québec classics.
The evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display at 10:30 p.m., inspired by the theme of Quebec’s 2026 Fête nationale, which marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of Guy Lafleur.
Residents are invited to bring their own folding chairs and reusable water bottles. Drinking fountains will be available on site. Please note that glass bottles and animals are prohibited. In an effort to be environmentally conscious, the town encourages carpooling or access to the site by bicycle, particularly via the Véloroute d’Argenteuil. A security team will be on hand to direct motorists to the free parking lot located on Montée Byrne.
