Police arrested a repeat impaired driving offender and confiscated illegal drugs in Brownsburg on Wednesday, April 22.

At around 2:30 a.m., Sûreté du Québec officers intercepted a vehicle for a traffic violation on Rue des Érables in Brownsburg. During the stop, officers discovered narcotics and arrested the driver. The 41-year-old Brownsburg-Chatham resident was taken to the police detachment where a drug recognition expert administered a series of tests. He was subsequently released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date in Saint-Jérôme. He could face charges of impaired driving, drug possession, and breach of conditions. Police seized 10 methamphetamine tablets and $700 in cash during the stop. The vehicle was towed.
