The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the evening of Thursday, September 4, which resulted in the death of a man in his 60s and a woman passenger in her 60s from the other vehicle.
The collision occurred along Autoroute 50 near Grenville-sur-la-Rouge and resulted in the highway’s closure for approximately six hours between 5 and 11 p.m.
The SQ stated that the cause of the collision has not yet been determined, though they can confirm that the deceased driver was driving east when the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic.
Two individuals in the other vehicle were reported to have suffered severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The 60-year-old passenger eventually succumbed to her injuries.
