Road construction work will begin soon on a busy street in the village of Grenville.
Village council has granted the contract for reconstruction of rue Queen to Monco Construction Inc. for $1,541,808.19, including sales tax.
Rue Queen connects rue Principale with rue Maple (Route 344).
Monco, of St-Marguerite-du Lac Masson, submitted the lowest of six bids the village received for the project.

Self-serve kayak and paddleboard rentals in Grenville are back for the 2025 season.
Village council has agreed to allow Pad-Kay to again offer the service at the boat ramp again until the end of September.
Two kayaks and two paddleboards are available for rent, allowing paddlers to explore Grenville Bay and the canal.
When customers reserve online, they are given an access code for the locker where they are stored. Conditions on Grenville Bay are good for novices and Grenville Canal conditions are best for experts. The rentals are available from 5 am to 9 pm daily.
