It is the middle of winter, but seasonal employment for summer is already available at the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA).
The RRCA is again looking to fill a variety of seasonal and part-time positions to support its programs and services in Cornwall and the surrounding area of SDG. The 13 available positions will help support Conservation Area services, environmental stewardship, administration, outreach, and more.
“Working for the RRCA is a great way for students and recent graduates to gain new skills and experience,” said Josianne Sabourin, RRCA’s Administrative Assistant. “Each year, our seasonal staff get involved in different aspects of the environmental programs and services we offer to the municipalities in our watershed jurisdiction.”
One of Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities, the RRCA provides protection from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, conserves environmentally significant land, protects municipal sources of drinking water, fosters landowner stewardship, and provides recreation and eco-tourism opportunities.
“If you want to experience what it’s like to work at a conservation authority, help your local environment, and gain solid work experience, this could be your opportunity,” adds Sabourin.
Thanks to federal, provincial, and other funding sources, the RRCA can recruit seasonal talent to support the busy field work and Conservation Area season. The RRCA also regularly hosts co-op students and interns throughout the year. The RRCA’s skilled team of engineers, planners, biologists, technicians, administrators, and field and outreach staff always look forward to welcoming those who join their team in the spring.
