Arbor Gallery is hosting a new exhibition titled “Narrative Contours” by Rockland-based artist Veronika McKerrell. The exhibition, which runs from August 29 to September 22, features a collection of McKerrell’s paintings and drawings that explore the intersection between realism and abstraction.
McKerrell, known for her unique blend of mediums, uses her art to navigate through life’s complexities. “My art has always been a way for me to process and reflect on my experiences,” she explains. “Each piece in this exhibition captures significant moments in my life, from grieving the loss of my father during the pandemic to contemplating the role of religion and suffering in society.”
With a background in landscape and figurative painting, McKerrell has studied at the Leith School of Art and the Essential School of Painting in the UK. Since 2020, she has exhibited her work in private galleries and group shows in Edinburgh, London, and Ottawa.
The public is invited to meet McKerrell during the exhibition’s vernissage on Saturday, September 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Arbor Gallery, located at 36 Home Ave. in Vankleek Hill.
