The long days of summer are here and we want to enjoy every second of them! If you are like me, you love to spend every moment outside. In the last few years, I have really enjoyed adding whimsical, unique pieces to my garden and outdoor spaces.
Let your creativity go and search for objects that are tucked away in your garage or basement. You might be very surprised at what you find!
I’ve gathered an array of photos from homeowners who, in their own creative way, have added fun, colour and whimsy into their gardens.
I hope that they inspire you to do the same. The season has just started so you have lots of time to add your own whimsical touch.
DIY Easel perched on a porch
An easy DIY, unique project to recreate. You can purchase an easel, or make your own, add a frame and basket and you have a unique welcome for your family and friends!
Colourful Artistic Glass in the Garden:
Heavy glass balls make a great addition nestled under a flower or bush.
Love these glass fish that are swimming upstream! How fun!
Create your own glass and dish flowers
The beauty of these flowers is that they don’t need to be watered and look great all season!
Create your own garden chair
I found this character-filled, vintage, wooden chair at the end of someone’s driveway and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!
The patina of the chair was rustic, inspiring the vision for the chair. I grabbed a bag of moss, some glue, two panels of river rocks from Dollarama and the fun began!
Colourful Pots
Do you have a shed in your backyard? If so, have you ever thought of adding some whimsy to it? Why not add a collection of vibrant, colourful, patterned pots?
Something for the Birds
Adding some whimsy to your garden can be as easy as incorporating a unique birdhouse. This one makes me smile.
Summertime is special. Grab a cool drink, relax, gaze upon your whimsical garden and smile.
Until next time,
Sue
