The Québec government is contributing $23,323,450 from the local roads assistance program to six municipalities in the Municipalité régional de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil in 2024.

The funding was announced on Friday, March 1 in Harrington by Québec Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility Geneviève Guilbault, and Argenteuil member of the Quebec legislature Agnès Grondin. The funding aims to support the municipalities in their efforts to improve or maintain local road infrastructure.  The funding is targeted for the repair of 48 kilometres of roads and 81 culverts.

Grenville-sur-la-Rouge is receiving the largest amount of the funding at $6,911,707. The funds will be used for resurfacing on Chemin Harrington, Chemin de la Rivière-Rouge, Chemin Kilmar, Chemin Scotch, and other unspecified roads.

The Township of Harrington is receiving $5,501,033 for resurfacing on its section of Chemin de la Rivière-Rouge.

In Gore, the township will use $5,389,914 of the funding for resurfacing and a culvert replacement on Chemin Cambria.

Chemin Hammond and Chemin Tamaracouta in Mille-Isles will be resurfaced with $3,007,350 of the provincial funding.

The village of Grenville is receiving $1,601,397 for its planned project to resurface Rue Queen east of Rue Maple (Route 344).

Brownsburg-Chatham will use $912,049 in provincial funding for resurfacing work on Chemin de la Carrière.

The local roads funding announced on March 1 for Argenteuil is part of more than $384 million the Québec government is contributing to municipalities across the province in 2024-2025 for road improvements.
