The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in La Nation Township on September 26, 2022.

As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized six vehicles, a boat and stolen property. The total value of the stolen property is more than $600,000.

Three individuals were charged:

A 34-year-old, from Ottawa, was charged with:

  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number CC 353.1 (two counts)
  • Use, deals, acts on forged documents CC 368(1)(a)
  • Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)
  • Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic) CC 355.5(a) (six counts)
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 355(a) (six counts)

A 40-year-old, from La Nation Township, was charged with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a)
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 355(a) (five counts)

A 31-year-old, from Ottawa, was charged with:

  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number CC 353.1 (two counts)
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 CC 355(b) (two counts)
  • Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic) CC 355.5(a) (six counts)
  • Possession Break in Instruments CC 351(1)
  • Use, deals, acts on forged documents CC 368(1)(a)
  • Cause or attempt to use a forged document CC 368(1)(b)
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 355(a) (six counts)

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
