There are hints an industry in Lachute is planning to expand and local authorities are working on plans to help facilitate any expansion.
Bottled water producer Ice River Springs has a bottling plant and warehouse located in the industrial park on Boulevard Cristini. Proposals are before both Lachute council and MRC d’Argenteuil council that would permit a study on nearby Strong Brook. .The study is required before any expansion can occur.
Lachute Mayor Bernard Bigras-Denis said he is looking forward to seeing the plans the company has for its Lachute operations.
Ice River Springs is headquartered in Shelburne, Ontario, and along with its Lachute and Argenteuil operations, also produces bottled water from various sites in southern Ontario. The company produces bottled water under private labels for various retail chains.
