An entire herd of goats perished in a fire which destroyed a barn east of Grenville early in the morning of Friday, February 25.  

According to Grenville-sur-la-Rouge Fire Chief Marc Montpetit, firefighters were called to Ferme Zorro on the second Concession at 4:47 a.m. Friday. The fire departments from Grenville village and Brownsburg-Chatham also assisted and 27 firefighters were on the scene. Montpetit said the building was a complete loss. 

Ferme Zorro announced on social media Friday that it has closed due to the fire. The fire department and owners of the farm did not yet know the cause. The farm owners stated they lost the entire herd of goats in the fire. 

The farm had specialized in breeding Nigerian goats with blue eyes.
