Champlain Township is providing $46,685 in grants to various community organizations in 2022. The township’s two grant programs are Community Grants and Communite Facility Usage Grants. 

In all, 13 community organizations in Champlain Township will receive a total of $39,520 in Community Grant funding in 2022. The organization receiving the largest sum is the L’Orignal Old Jail, which is being granted $8,500. The recipient of the second largest Community Grant is the Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association, which is receiving $5,000. Patrimoine L’Orignal-Longueuil Heritage is receiving $4,525, which is the third-largest Community Grant being given by Champlain Township in 2022.  

Community Grant funds from Champlain Township in 2022 are also being given to the Vankleek Hill Skating Club, Arbor Gallery Cultural Centre, Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society, Vankleek Hill and District Historical Society, Higginson Tower Committee, Banque alimentaire de L’Orignal, Ski-Vent-Clic, Vankleek Hill Sports Club, La Baie Run, and the St. John’s Anglican Church Women. 

Champlain Township is also providing a total of $7,165 to six organizations in Community Facility Usage Grants in 2022. The grants are used to assist organizations with the cost of using the facilities where their activities take place.

The largest Community Facility Usage Grant is being given to the Club l’amicale du village de L’Orignal and is $2,100. The Canadian Cancer Society-Russell Gauley Breakfast and the Vankleek Hill Fiddle and Dance Association are each receiving $1,502, and the third-highest Community Facility Usage Grant from Champlain Township – at $1,284 – is being given to the Vankleek Hill and District Horticultural Society. 

Other organizations receiving Community Facility Usage Grants from Champlain Township in 2022 are La Baie Run and the Club du réveil Vankleek Hill.
