A major Sûreté du Québec operation involving weapons trafficking is taking place in an unspecified part of Brownsburg-Chatham today.
Police officers from the Rive-Nord Regional Mixed Squad are currently carrying out a search operation in as part of the provincial CENTAURE.
Officers are searching for evidence in the home of an individual suspected of trafficking guns. Items that will be seized today could help demonstrate the suspect’s involvement in firearms trafficking activities in the area.
This operation is the result of an investigation initiated based on information received from the public in October.
The CENTAURE strategy is designed to ensure constant pressure on organized crime and actively fight against illegal firearms trafficking in Quebec. Any information related to these offenses can be communicated to 1-833-888-ARME (2763).
