To the Editor,
I wish to thank the staff of the Hawkesbury General Hospital for the excellent care I received during my recent hospitalisation.
The hospital is often the focus of negative comments due to the pressures put upon it by under-staffing, the Covid crisis and recent expansion. Originally diagnosed with vertigo, I too had a seven hour wait in Emergency before seeing a doctor, who suspected a minor stroke and admitted me.
But once admitted, I found the nurses, nursing assistants and the rest of the staff to be professional, efficient and caring during the many tests and treatments I received.
Medical staff have difficult jobs to do and are under increasing pressure. I am grateful for their caring commitment to their professions. Thank you!
Sincerely
Joanne Renaud
