As of Tuesday, May 11, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority reported 11 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, which was an increase of two cases from Monday, May 10.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24 as of Tuesday.
Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 306 active cases of COVID-19 as of May 11.
Québec is phasing in making COVID-19 vaccination appointments available to all adults aged 18 and older. As of May 10, individuals aged 30 and older (born in 1991 or before) are eligible.
The Québec department of health and social services reported that 259,816 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Tuesday. Across Québec, 3,844,493 vaccine doses had been administered as of Tuesday.
Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities
According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of May 11 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:
École St-Alexandre in Lachute
Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute
As of Tuesday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.
According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 7,817 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, May 11, and there were 660 new cases across Québec on Tuesday.
There were 540 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Tuesday, and 128 of those patients were in intensive care.
There had been 11,002 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of May 11, which was an increase of nine deaths from May 9.
On May 10, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority confirmed that every resident of a long-term care facility in the region had received their second COVID-19 vaccination.
Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.
The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic until May 20.
