The Québec government is providing funding for both local road and provincial highway improvements this year across the Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil and the larger Laurentides region.

On April 19, the minister responsible for the Laurentides, Nadine Girault, announced $222,413,000 in funding for various road infrastructure projects across the Laurentides in 2021.

The funding includes $71,456,000 for paving, $61,073,000 for structures such as bridges, and $89,113,000 for efficiency and security improvements that were recommended by coroner’s investigations.

In the MRC d’Argenteuil, Route 327 in the Pine Hill community in Brownsburg-Chatham will be repaved in 2021.

On March 10, MRC d’Argenteuil council received confirmation it was receiving $42,500 from the Ministère des transports du Québec (MTQ) for distribution to its municipalities for road work.  Local road funding is separate from funding announced for provincial highway improvements.
