Summer camps in Champlain Township are still a go, as the municipality continues to evaluate the COVID-19 situation before making a final decision on whether to modify plans.

Summer Day camps for children between the ages of 4-11 years old are scheduled to run from June 28 to August 20. The township is asking Champlain residents to stay tuned to its website for updates. Updates will be posted approximately every two weeks.

“Right now it depends on what the (provincial) government will let us do,” explained Zoe Fortin, Communications Specialist for Champlain Township. “They have not said anything about the summer, not even for festivals events, or summer camps.”

Fortin said the township is currently planning the camps in their usual format. Camp counsellors are being recruited, as well as animators. Students wishing to apply for any of the camp counsellor positions can apply through this link.

Registration for the 2021 summer camps in Champlain is open until the middle of May and can be done online or via email to [email protected]. You can also obtain more information by contacting the Township of Champlain by phone at 613-678-3003.

The number of spots in the summer camps will be limited according to capacity and the measures imposed by Ontario Public Health.
