There were 19 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, March 19, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Friday.

There was a total of 326 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec as of March 19.

Vaccination information

The CISSS des Laurentides reported that 46,924 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across its territory as of Friday.

Québec residents aged 65 (born in 1956 or before) and greater are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.  Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of March 19 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École St-Alexandre in Lachute

École St-Julien in Lachute

Laurentian Elementary School in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.

As of Friday, there was one active case of COVID-19 at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 6,851 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Friday, March 19, which was an increase of 561 cases from March 18.

There were 504 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 99 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,587 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of March 19, which was an increase of 11 deaths from March 18.

Across Québec, 872,459 people had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
