There were just 13 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Tuesday, March 2, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.  On Monday, March 1, there had been 14 active cases.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Tuesday.

There was a total of 453 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec as of March 2.

The CISSS des Laurentides reported that 21,748 residents of the region had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, the only active cases of COVID-19 at a school in the MRC d’Argenteuil as of March 2 was at Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.

As of Tuesday, no active cases of COVID-19 were present at long-term care facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 7,378 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, March 2, which was an increase of 588 cases from March 1.

There were 628 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Tuesday, and 121 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,407 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of March 2, which was an increase of eight deaths from March 1.

Across Québec, 455,328 people had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
