Québec Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Andrée Laforest has announced that two public housing offices in the Laurentides region have consolidated into a single office.

Since January 1, 2021, the Argenteuil regional housing office is now responsible for the management of 313 social housing units and provides services to the nine municipalities of the MRC d´Argenteuil. The Societe d’habitation du Québec and its partners offered support in the various stages of planning the new regional housing office.

The restructuring process is in line with the desire of the Québec government to improve services to social housing tenants.  The intent is to optimize the management and distribution of available housing for the benefit of lower-income Quebecers.

As a result of the restructuring, there are now 158 housing offices across Québec.  In 2017, there were 538 offices.  Restructuring efforts are continuing.

The Argenteuil housing office is located at 317 boulevard de l’Aéroparc in Lachute.
