Active COVID-19 cases among residents of the territory served by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) had decreased modestly as of Wednesday, February 17. There had been 117 active cases on Tuesday, February 16, and there were 112 active cases on Wednesday.
There were 11 COVID-19 patients from the EOHU’s territory in hospital as of February 17, and one patient was in intensive care.
The number of deaths resulting from COVID-19 across the area served by the EOHU as of Wednesday had increased to 66 from 64 on Tuesday.
Orange zone in effect

Vaccination
As of Wednesday, February 17, 6,320 residents of the EOHU’s territory had been vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of February 17, there were 847 new, active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario from February 16. According to calculations based on statistics from the Ministry of Health, there were 10,985 active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario as of February 17.
There were 719 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Ontario as of February 17. Out of those patients, 298 were in intensive care, and 211 patients were on ventilators.
There had been 6,729 deaths due to COVID-19 across Ontario as of February 17, which was an increase of 10 deaths from February 16.
