There were two new, active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Wednesday, February 17.

According to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority, there were 20 active cases of COVID-19 among Argenteuil residents as of Wednessday.  On Monday, February 15, there had been 17 active cases.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Wednesday.

On Wednesday, there were a total of 572 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec.

Across the Laurentides region, 13,567 people had began vaccinated against COVID-19 as of February 17.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

The Québec government reported active cases of COVID-19 at the following schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of February 17:

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of February 17, no active cases of COVID-19 were present at long-term care facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 9,313 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as Wednesday, February 17.  The number of active cases had increased by 874 from February 16 to February 17.

There were 766 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of February 17, and 130 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,258 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of February 17, which was an increase of 12 deaths from February 16.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
