On December 5, 2020, several members of The Lachute District Shrine Club gathered in Lachute for a photo to recognize their $ 50,000 donation to Shriner’s Hospital for Children to purchase a spine surgery table. This donation is only a portion of the donations made to the hospital since the club was formed in early 1980. These funds were raised over the years thanks to the generosity of the public which attend the popular bi-annual pancake breakfast over the last 40 years, annual golf tournaments, the very popular fishing derby, Basket of Cheer draw ticket sales, or hall rentals. The nearest Shriners Hospital for Children is on Boulevard Décarie in Montréal.
