Scratch” is the new coding club program which is being offered virtually by the Champlain Library to children between 9 to 13 years of age. The program helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively which are essential skills for life in the 21st century. Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab.

Children will learn how to do basic coding virtually and will be guided through several Scratch modules through Zoom. The coding club will run every two weeks and the next session will take place on Monday, February 1st at 4:15 PM. You will need a computer and internet access and will be provided with a Zoom meeting and Scratch website information. Alicia, Children’s Services Librarian, will guide you through your very first coding creation. Register on the library’s website at bc-cl.ca or call 613-678-2216 today.
