Québec’s housing agency, the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) is inviting households that have suffered financial disadvantages due to the pandemic to immediately verify their eligibility for recently announced assistance measures.
Loan for the payment of rent in May and/or June 2020.
If you are a tenant and have difficulty paying your May and / or June rent, the interest-free loan program (up to $ 1,500) that the SHQ has set up can give you the boost needed to get through the crisis. Waiting for your house or your accommodation?
The temporary shutdown of residential construction sites could also make it impossible for you to move into your main residence at the scheduled time.
If your new house or your new accommodation is not available due to COVID-19, the SHQ can offer you financial support for temporary accommodation while waiting for the work to be completed.
This assistance, which is subject to certain conditions, can go up to $ 2,000 per month for a maximum period of two months. Expenses for the transportation and storage of movable property are also eligible for reimbursement of up to $ 1,000.
