The Little Sprouts Gardening Program begins on Tuesday, June 4th at the Champlain Library. Children ages 5 and up are invited to participate in the library’s first ever Little Sprouts Program. Together with the Vankleek Hill & District Horticultural Society, the children will plant and tend a vegetable garden located at the Mill Street Park in Vankleek Hill. Through books and hands-on experience, kids will learn how to grow and maintain a garden plot. The program will take place every Tuesday from 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm and garden-based stories will be read when weather permits. Recent research findings suggest that outdoor activities and exercise are integral to general health and well-being.
