To The Editor,

Ottawa Centre, for many years, until the 2015 election, voted in NDPer Paul Dewar as its MP. He was one of the leaders of the Canada branch of the Parliamentarians for nuclear non-profileration and disarmament (PNND.com).

If Ottawa Centre votes in Joel Harden as MPP in June, he could start an Ontario branch of PNND at the provincial legislature. Our MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell (GPR) Francis Drouin joined the Canada branch of PNND on September 25, 2017.

During the next weeks, let us in GPR ask each of the candidates to promise that if elected, they will join the PNND. They would follow the examples of one member of the state government of Georgia, U.S.A., who is a member of PNND.

Ask the libraries of Prescott-Russell to get a copy of “The Doomsday Machine: Confessions of a Nuclear War Planner” by Daniel Ellsberg, which came out on December 5, 2017. The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Library has had a copy since February.

On April 5, seven Catholic peace activities walked into the nuclear weapons submarine base in southeast Georgia, reports the Washington Post. They carried on an indictment, charging the U.S. government for crimes against peace. They also carried in baby bottles of their own blood. They were arrested and charged with defacing federal property, since they smeared red paint on buildings and signs.
