The Editor,

When I read your letter this week and saw some had thought your Christmas Home Tour was disrespectful I was dismayed.

Christmas is about home, family, peace, joy and love for your fellow human being. All things that our veterans fought so hard for, some with their lives. How can it be disrespectful to bring beauty and happiness to us when we are bombarded with images of hatred and violence every time we watch the news? My mother and father were veterans of WWII . They saw first-hand the destruction and horror of a war-torn London during the blitz. After the war was over, they celebrated every Christmas like it was the last they would see. Our home was always filled with laughter and light and magic. That’s what they fought for. Your Christmas tour disrespectful? I don’t think so. I think it’s an honor to all those that fought so hard to be sure there would always be a Christmas to celebrate. Please keep bringing us that joy to our lives. We need to be reminded what our veterans wanted for us. Peace. Love. And the freedom to celebrate as we choose.
