On Sunday, August 6, the L’Orignal Old Jail will be hosting an event unlike any other. If you are interested in the prison system and would like to hear true but untold stories from former prison guards, take note: visitors will have a chance to tour the old jail, accompanied by a guard who will explain the daily prison functioning and share stories of his experiences during his stay at the jail.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. and finish at 3 p.m., each tour taking on average one hour. French tours begin at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p. m., and 3:00; English tours begin at 1:15 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Even though it is an open house type event, with a 10$ admission fee per person, visitors are invited to buy a ticket in advance.
Also taking place in August is Murder on Ice 2017. On the evening of Saturday August 12, a murder mystery dinner will be held at the L’Orignal Old Jail. Visitors will be witnessing a murder and its resolution, accompanied by a dinner. The mystery will take place exclusively in English, and begin at 6 p.m. Tickets for Murder on Ice are on sale now for $35.
