The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) is inviting residents to contribute to the improvement of the patient experience by joining the new Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC).
The Patient and Family Advisory Council serves as a forum for patients and families to partner with hospital staff members and leaders to shape decisions and influence change and improvements. In a patient-centered care delivery approach, HGH recognizes patients as experts in their own care needs.
To become a Patient and Family Advisor, a person should have experienced patient care at HGH within the past two years, either as a patient or a patient’s family member. Ideal candidates are also bilingual and open to sharing their experiences and ideas in a constructive and collaborative way.
The Advisory Council will meet four times per year. Advisors will be invited to share their point of view about patient care and organizational processes. Their main role is to advocate for patient and family needs.
