On Sunday, November 6, the Lachute Legion hosted its annual Remembrance Day Service. The activities began with a service at the Anglican Church, which is located on Main Street, followed by a parade to the cenotaph.
Nearly 100 people participated in the parade, including local veterans, cadets, girl guides and government representatives.
The sun was shining on the cenotaph and creating rainbows of colour on the poppies, as a local piper from the CC04 Highland Cadet Corps, in Lachute, opened the ceremonies with the pealing call of the bagpipes.
After the wreaths had been laid and the speeches spoken, the assembly left the cenotaph in a parade back to the legion, where lunch was served.
