The Morin-Heights Legion celebrated Remembrance Day with a parade and a service on November 5.
More than 40 army reservists from the Royal Canadian Hussars unit in Montreal attended the event. The Hussars arrived in Morin-Heights aboard a bus covered in poppies. They were accompanied by a large military transport vehicle and two G-wagons.
Major Robin Thibault, Commander of the B-Squadron of the Hussars, served as the parade marshal.
The celebrations began with a church service at the Morin-Heights United Church, followed by a parade to the cenotaph at Hillside Cemetery, where the wreaths were laid. Four honour guards stood watch at the cenotaph, including Corporal Hudon and Corporal Fernando, of the Royal Canadian Hussars, and Legion members Faye Ross and Ron Garayt.
After the service, the soldiers and veterans paraded back to the legion where a lunch was served.
