Peacefully at the Courtyards on Eagleson in Kanata on Sunday, March 3, 2019, Roméo Sauvé formerly of Cornwall passed away at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 60 years to Laurette (née Lacombe). Predeceased by his parents, Joseph Emery Sauvé and Electa Hubert of Vankleek Hill. Much loved father of Jean Marc Sauvé (Maria Natziuk) of Ottawa, Lucie Sauvé (Kevin Stiles) of Renfrew, Alain Sauvé (Carol Bisson) of Kanata and Christine Sauvé (Jocelyn Guindon) of Casselman. Dearly loved grandfather of Natasha, Véronique, Zachary, Aima Rose, Christophe, including Francis, Nikolas and Cassandra. Dear brother of Dora Martin (the late Rolland). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Marie Larocque (the late Bruno), Peter “Bidou” (the late Catherine), Thérèse Lacarte (the late Laurent), Emma Durocher (the late Adrien), Winnifred Sauvé, William Henri “Bill” Sauvé (the late Dolorès), Stella Séguin (the late Léo), Roger “Jos” Sauvé (Jeannine), Jane Perrault (the late Pierre), Arthur Sauvé (the late Shirley), Charles Sauvé (Gertrude), Georges Sauvé (Claudette), Edmond Sauvé and Juliette Sauvé. Dear brother-in-law of Gérald Lacombe (Marie-Paule), Yvonne Séguin (the late Bernard), Marguerite-Rose Couvillon (Louis). Predeceased by Simone Langevin (the late Gérard), Lucille Conway (the late Raymond), Eugène Lacombe (Rita) and Louis Lacombe.Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, parishioners, former colleagues of the teaching profession, students, friends and Knights of Columbus.The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint-Rémi Catholic Church, 2821 Dumaurier Avenue, Ottawa, on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 am. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church commencing at 10 am. A reception will be held at the parish hall immediately following the Mass. Spring interment will be at Saint-Grégoire-de-Nazianze parish cemetery in Vankleek Hill, where Roméo’s parents and many family members rest in peace.
