Nomination papers continue to be filed in North Glengarry for the upcoming municipal election on Monday, October 26.
As of Monday, August 3, five candidates are vying for the position of mayor. Josée Jeaurond submitted her nomination documents on Monday, July 20, joining incumbent Mayor Jamie MacDonald, Cody Pierce, Michel Levert, and Victor Brassard in the mayoral race.
Currently, only incumbent Deputy Mayor Carma Williams has filed nomination papers for the position of Deputy Mayor, while Michel Cuerrier is the sole candidate seeking the Councillor at Large position, and incumbent Councillor Jeff Manley is the only individual seeking the Ward 2 – Kenyon seat.
Ward 1 – Lochiel is now a three-way race between Brenda Noble, Sue Bradley, and Elizabeth Caddell. Ward 3 – Alexandria features incumbent Councillor Michael Madden and Mark Talbot.
Incumbent Councillor Gary Martin and Rachel Marleau will compete for the Ward 4 – Maxville council seat.
