The Township of North Glengarry has a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

“On behalf of the Township of North Glengarry, I am very pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Fawthrop will be assuming the role of Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk for the Township of North Glengarry effective Monday, February 2, 2026”, said Mayor Jamie MacDonald in a press release issued by the township on Monday, December 22.

“Fawthrop is a professional engineer who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our municipality, and staff and Council look forward to working closely with him on a variety of important projects, including the expansion of Alexandria’s wastewater treatment facility and the overhaul of Alexandria’s main street,” MacDonald continued.

Fawthrop is a graduate of the Civil Engineering program at Queen’s University and has worked in both the private and public sectors, most recently as General Manager of Infrastructure and Municipal Works for the City of Cornwall.

“I wish to thank our interim CAO/Clerk, Mr. Timothy Simpson, for the important role he played during our transition period,”said MacDonald.”

North Glengarry has been without a permanent CAO since September 5, 2025.
