To the Editor,

The bad news can get you down and make you complacent. Not a happy place. It helps to join a group and do good together. Something that benefits local people, our democracy, or the planet. This is response-ability.

This week, I heard encouraging talks about climate action at the annual conference of Citizens Climate Lobby. Catherine McKenna https://www.climateandnature.com/  told us that climate challenges every aspect of life and it’s hard, so we need to work hard at it… in health care, environment, education, budgets, infrastructure, and justice.

Paul Kershaw https://www.gensqueeze.ca/budget_all_generations told us to align with everyone’s wish to protect children and the future… to be good ancestors. It’s a deep value we all share and the warmth we feel in connecting to community. Responsibility feels good.
