The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) launched its new Rheumatology clinic in early August. The department treats conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, collagen diseases, and other disorders affecting joints, bones, muscles, and soft tissues.

Specialized care is also offered for systemic vasculitis, osteoarthritis requiring rheumatologic evaluation or joint injections, and musculoskeletal ultrasound to support diagnosis and guided procedures.

The clinic also offers capillaroscopy to help evaluate connective tissue diseases.

Hospital officials said that the goal is to ensure timely access to care for patients living with complex rheumatologic conditions.

Patients should note that a doctor’s referral is required and can be found here: https://hgh.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/CLI-11-3011_V4_Demande-de-consultation_Soins-ambulatoires.pdf?fbclid=IwY2xjawMRqElleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFwdE5MQ05lS3BRaWY5T0pGAR6lv4PLYP8RDb0WehgiA0qnKLRSzZ7Mgo3yld6a-yCUXaTi4EbMRHH85DdL1A_aem_H6vPOMAsQ-Hpz8PUt_8q_Q.
