A minivan caught fire in the parking lot of the Hawkesbury Centre during the afternoon of Tuesday, July 29.
According to Hawkesbury Fire Chief Brian Wilson, the fire department was called to the parking lot near the Giant Tiger store at 1:49 pm Tuesday afternoon and was at the scene quickly, by 1:52 pm.
Wilson said firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries. Wilson said the fire appeared to have started in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
The minivan was destroyed beyond repair.
